Chapter 891: Fate Is Just That Coincidental
At noon, Lan Ning still went to have lunch with her other female colleagues, while Lu Yi could only hide and secretly watch, feeling incredibly anxious but too embarrassed to approach.
"What should I do? What should I do?" Lu Yi scratched his head, suddenly remembering that his good friend Gu Fan had once talked about two colleagues, Lin Xi and Leng Le, who had some experience in this area and could teach him a thing or two.
Just as Lu Yi was about to pick up his phone, he hesitated, because if he told Gu Fan, then Gu Fan would surely tell Su Hui and inform Gu Ling. This would mean many people would learn about his secret crush on a female coworker.
"Forget it!" Lu Yi put away his phone, deciding to try figuring things out on his own.
As time ticked away into the afternoon, Lu Yi was busy with work, occasionally exchanging a few inconsequential words with Lan Ning but making no other progress, seeing no hope of taking their relationship any further.
After work, closing the door, Lu Yi walked out of the office with a dejected look on his face. However, he smiled when he saw his good friend Jie had been waiting for him at the entrance for quite a while.
Lu Yi had dinner with Jie, who kept inquiring about what exactly had happened with Gu Fan, wanting to know why Gu Fan didn’t confide in him and if he was no longer trusted.
Lu Yi didn’t know what Gu Fan was thinking; he speculated that Gu Fan might be worried that if there were a conflict with the big boss later on, it was very likely that there would be a violent clash with Hai, leaving Jie unsure how to face it.
Jie frowned, having considered this issue before; indeed, it was a difficult situation, no longer as simple as taking sides with whoever was right.
Lu Yi reassured Jie not to overthink it because they both understood Gu Fan well; Gu Fan would absolutely not distrust a brother who had been through life and death situations with him.
As the two chatted for a long time, unaware of the time passing, the sky dimmed. Noticing it was getting late, they paid the bill and left the restaurant.
