Back at the hotel, Gu Fan and David discussed the plan, and after listening, David’s brow furrowed, not having expected Gu Fan to actually find a gang that could smuggle them and their equipment out in secret.
David expressed his concern, "Gu Fan, do you really trust those people? It’s like we’re betting everything we have on them."
In response, Gu Fan sighed, "There’s no choice, we don’t have a better option, and neither do they. Everyone is out of good options, so I have to take the gamble, and the odds of winning are high."
Su Hui also thought it was feasible. If they didn’t take the risk now, they might not even have the chance to take a gamble later on.
The gang that Gu Fan had found was the Fat Tiger Gang. As their name suggests, each member was overweight, a second-tier gang in the city that had recently been hit hard and suffered casualties.
The Fat Tiger Gang was already arranging for a boat, and they expected to leave by tomorrow night, so as long as they held on until then, there should be no problem.
To show his sincerity, Gu Fan asked Du Jun for a sum of money, intending to pay the Fat Tiger Gang in cash to avoid any record of the transaction that could lead to complications later on.
Well, after enough chaos for one night, Gu Fan, Su Hui, and David went back to their rooms to rest, to sleep well, and to face tomorrow with plenty of energy.
A bit exhausted, Gu Fan fell asleep as soon as his head hit the pillow, the continuous gunfire outside unable to keep him awake. He was simply too tired, and so were Su Hui and David—they desperately needed the rest.
