In the suburbs, within a villa, the flow of air all around was being disturbed by an unusual force. The once lushly green plants began to decay, and the atmosphere became oppressive, making one feel uncomfortable.
Qian Feng was using her magic, absorbing the essence from the plants and trees and infusing it into Lin Xi’s body in order to prolong her time. However, this measure only provided temporary relief and was not a permanent solution; its effectiveness was declining.
An hour later, Qian Feng was drenched in sweat, and Lin Xi’s complexion had only slightly improved.
"It’s a good thing you brought her here in time, or the consequences would have been unthinkable," Qian Feng said, wiping the sweat from her forehead.
Su Hui stood nearby watching while Gu Fan rushed to support Lin Xi, asking, "Lin Xi, how do you feel?"
"I’m fine, I feel much better," Lin Xi barely managed a smile, hoping to ease Gu Fan’s worries. Qian Feng however snorted, "Better? The treatment didn’t go as well as expected this time. I don’t know how long she’ll last. Next time if you happen to pass out somewhere public, no matter how powerful my magic may be, I couldn’t save you if no one brought you to me in time."
Upon hearing these words, Gu Fan was dumbfounded, completely taken aback.
Lin Xi quickly interjected, "Okay, sister, please, can you not scare people?"
"I’m not exaggerating at all; I am just stating the facts." Qian Feng’s face was stern, and then she spoke to Gu Fan, who was obviously frightened, "Qian Ye ended up like this because of you. But what can you do for Qian Ye?"
