Chapter 701: Ending Everything
Lisa smiled slightly, then collapsed on the ground. The chaos around her seemed unrelated to her as she stared blankly at Gu Fan.
Gu Fan sighed regretfully, then walked up to Lisa and asked, "I’m sorry for all the misfortune that befallen you since you encountered me. Is there anything I can do for you now?"
Lisa cheerfully smiled, then shook her head, "Honestly, at one point I blamed you for betraying me. I hated you for ruining my plans. But now, when I am about to be liberated, I don’t hold any grudges against you. Strange, isn’t it?"
"You saved us. If you have any unfulfilled wishes, I can help to fulfill them." Gu Fan looked at Lisa, a quarter of whose body had already turned to ash. He knew there was no going back. All he could do was to show his sincerity.
The other Wandering Sea Ghosts suffered even more. The newly joined had completely disappeared, while the older ones had already lost half of their bodies. They howled in pain, refused to accept their fate, and even glared with resentment at Gu Fan and Lisa.
The boss mocked them, "If you had not been so ruthless, Lisa wouldn’t have had to perish with you."
Gu Fan ignored those deserving Wandering Sea Ghosts and focussed on Lisa. Lisa sighed, looking somewhat helpless and emotional, "I became one of the Wandering Sea Ghosts and lived for so many years, but I’ve never felt truly alive. Constantly attacking others, absorbing the Qi of the living, I went from feeling guilty to being numb. It seemed like any trace of humanity was slowly disappearing. I increasingly felt no joy and lived aimlessly day by day. There is no point in this so-called immortality. More than once have I thought about ending it all but lacked the courage. However, since I met you, things haven’t gone smoothly. Perhaps your arrival was to encourage me to make this decision."
Gu Fan didn’t know what to say to comfort her. After considering for a while, he said, "I hope you can live a happy life in your next life."
After hearing this, Lisa couldn’t help but laugh, "Reincarnation? Do you believe in such a thing?"
