Lin Xi couldn’t help it, she knew she couldn’t defy Gu Fan and so she went ahead; but the passage was crowded with people, which slowed progress and Gu Fan was stuck outside.

The situation was extremely urgent, but Gu Fan took a deep breath and prepared himself for the mermaid’s imminent attack.

"Oh fate, you won’t let me die here right?" Gu Fan stared fiercely at the oncoming mermaid, his body tautly ready.

The mermaid attacked, pinning Gu Fan against the stone wall. Just as its sharp teeth were about to bite down, a stone fell from a statue, knocking the mermaid on its head and saving Gu Fan’s life.

Barely catching his breath, before Gu Fan could rejoice, two more mermaids rushed towards him, he didn’t think he would have such good luck again.
