Chapter 585: Escape from the Island
Ouyang Jin, Gu Ling, and Du Jun had been waiting in the cave for a long time, but there was no sign of Gu Fan. They were extremely anxious, worrying that something bad had happened to Gu Fan, Lin Xi, and Su Hui.
Just then, a mist gushed from the passage, making everyone’s heartbeat accelerate with fear. They remembered their terrifying encounter with the mist on that night and several crew members quickly hid in the cabin.
Du Jun spoke up, "Don’t worry. We are already on the island. Nothing will happen to us. We didn’t encounter any danger during the last foggy night."
Most of them found Du Jun’s words reassuring, but it didn’t escape their attention that Gu Ling looked particularly concerned, as if sensing something.
The sound of footsteps neared them. Du Jun, Ouyang Jin, and others became alert. Some even pointed their guns at the passageway. - better to be safe than sorry.
However, those emerging were Lu Yi and Jie. Seeing their own people, everyone sighed in relief, but when Lu Yi shouted, "Look out, everyone. Pirates are catching up," panic set in among the crew.
"My god, no wonder..." Du Jun and others started to hide. They finally understood why Gu Ling looked so worried.
This was a tough spot. Even though Gu Ling sensed the imminent danger, the problem was that they could no longer escape; a head-on confrontation was inevitable.
As a thick mist started to fill the cave, it soon engulfed the dock. Everyone was extremely tense as the enveloping white mist made it impossible to determine when the enemy would approach.
