Chapter 456: Harmonious Family
In a high-rise residential building, Gu Fan’s father and his parents are cleaning their room while Gu Ling is helping out. They are working and laughing together, completely forgetting the trouble they caused Gu Fan earlier. They did not care about how Gu Fan was handling things now. It seemed like they had already forgotten about the matter.
Gu Fan too had arrived, and upon seeing his parents and sister happily cleaning, he couldn’t help but feel irritated: "You all seem to be having a lot of fun, do you know how much effort it took me to coax Lin Xi back? You almost killed me with your antics."
Gu Fan’s mother turned up her nose at him: "Girls are supposed to be loved and coaxed. If you find all this tiring are you even a man?"
"Come off it, Mom. Not only did you mistake a future daughter-in-law, but you also tried to put the family bracelet on Sister Su, and let your real future daughter-in-law see the whole thing causing a huge misunderstanding. Then you just run off. Talk about setting a trap." Gu Fan complained incessantly while his parents, obviously at fault, just awkwardly laughed.
Gu Fan’s father added another sentence: "Well, the misunderstanding happened. Now it’s your responsibility to solve it."
"You guys make it sound so easy." Gu Fan was quite helpless with such conniving parents and could only sigh, looking resigned.
Gu Fan’s father was serious: "OK, now it’s my turn to ask you. Why didn’t you inform us before you decided to invite a roommate to live in the old house? If you had mentioned this to us earlier, we would’ve known the situation and this misunderstanding wouldn’t have occurred today. Eventually, it’s all your fault."
"So it’s my fault?" Gu Fan was stunned, but then he caught his family’s stern eyes, realizing that he indeed was wrong, he quickly lowered his head: "I’m sorry, Mom and Dad, I was wrong. I should’ve asked for your approval before inviting a roommate. But I had my reasons."
Upon hearing this, Gu Fan’s father snorted, "Even if you had your reasons, why didn’t you discuss your plans with us? We, as your parents, are reasonable people."
