Chapter 289: Going All In
Rather than a hole, it was more like a tunnel. Lu Yi and the wolf tumbled down continuously, unable to stop themselves. The fall was chaotic and brutal, but Lu Yi knew that the situation was critical.
Suddenly, Lu Yi crashed into something soft and the tumbling stopped. But before he could understand what it was, he felt a roar burst out behind him, followed by a huge body springing into action.
Oh my god, what Lu Yi and the wolf had crashed into was a hibernating black bear. The intrusion woke the bear, and the first thing it saw was the wolf, immediately fueling its rage and causing it to attack the predator.
Several more wolves tumbled in after Lu Yi, confronted by the large bear, they instantly became timid and desperately retreated.
The bear charged mercilessly, biting and pinning a wolf on the ground, effortlessly ripping it apart with its superior strength.
The narrowness of the tunnel hinders the movements of the wolves, making retreat and even turning around difficult. Consequently, when the bear caught up with another wolf, it was easily mauled and torn apart.
Seeing the terrifying side of the black bear, Lu Yi felt a strange pang of pity for the wolves, and simultaneously was relieved he had not been noticed by the bear.
The remaining wolves finally managed to escape, whilst the black bear pursued them out of the tunnel. Gu Fan and his group had been ambushed by the pack of wolves and a few of them had been pinned down. Were it not for their protective helmets, they would have been in dire straits.
Just then, a large black bear appeared out of nowhere, its roars drowning out even the vicious snowstorm, scaring Gu Fan’s group and the wolves into creating a distance between themselves.
