"Good. That’s settled." After her final words, Lin Xi wore a triumphant look, the satisfaction of victory radiating from her.
As Lin Xi prepared to get into the car, Gu Fan outpaced her, grabbing her arm. He spoke solemnly, "You can leave, but you’ve got to come with me. There are many things I need to ask you."
"Why should I go with you?" Lin Xi began, however Gu Fan interrupted impatiently, "Stop talking so much. Just get moving. Have you not seen that Qin Jia and Du Jun get along so well? Quit being the third wheel. I won’t meddle if you don’t."
"Give me a break, stop touching me. If other people see us, they will think we haven’t broken up yet and no one else will ever pursue me." Lin Xi was very reluctant to cooperate, but after gamelessly resisting a few times, she was dragged away by Gu Fan.
Du Jun couldn’t stand it any longer and intended to intervene for Lin Xi, but the moment he started to step forward, Lin Xi shot him a glowering look that made him freeze in his tracks.
As Gu Fan and Lin Xi departed, Qin Jia looked on, a puzzled expression on her face. "It’s strange. Are they really broken up? To me, it seems like they’re flirting."
Du Jun hesitated, looked serious for a moment, and then replied, "Let’s just wait here. I believe they’ll be done shortly. It won’t take too long."
Qin Jia made a noncommittal noise. She could sense that something was off.
Once Gu Fan had led Lin Xi into a small grove, he looked at her intensely, causing her to become anxious. This grove was infamous for being a dating spot and Lin Xi didn’t understand what Gu Fan intended to do.
