Chapter 228 - Two Women
There were no classes today and Gu Fan didn’t feel like going to work either because he was exhausted from the previous night. He wanted to take the day off at home. Coincidentally, Su Hui was also in today, so the two of them headed to the market together, planning to team up and whip up some delicious meals.
They both kept busy all morning. Their teamwork in the kitchen was impeccable, leading to a feast of delicious dishes on the table, all of which filled them with great satisfaction.
However, when it was time to eat, a disagreement started between them. The fight began with Gu Fan claiming that the exquisite taste of a particular dish was due to his expert handling as the main chef.
Su Hui retorted, "What chief chef! Without my precise cutting skills - chopping the ingredients to just the right size so the flavours could seep in thoroughly - there wouldn’t be such flavorful food. The most credit should go to me."
Gu Fan pointed to another dish, "Wasn’t that one cooked by you? It tastes slightly overcooked which shows you lack a little in adjusting the heat."
Su Hui shot back immediately, "The reason is you. Your knife skill is slow, not up to the mark that affected my process. The main responsibility lies with you."
Both of them kept eating and arguing about who’s the better cook. The bickering didn’t lead to any conclusion. Finally, Su Hui suggested, "Why not, after we eat, we go out and have a fight?"
"Sure, I’ve made a lot of progress recently." Gu Fan also provoked, with a ’bring it on’ kind of attitude.
However, after the whole wrestling debacle, Gu Fan ended up losing. Su Hui had him locked down with a ’Cross Lock’, leaving him unable to move.
"How about it, kiddo? Who’s the better cook? Speak up!" Su Hui was pretty smug, it didn’t matter to her which dish was better as long as she defeated Gu Fan in wrestling.
Gu Fan was helpless. Every time their arguments came to a deadlock, Su Hui would use force to suppress him. Gradually it had become a routine for them. Gu Fan could only respond, "Your cooking is better. You are better at everything than me. I give up, my bad."
