Chapter 223 A Massacre
Because it was the first time executing a mission of such heart-stopping, life-or-death nature, everyone felt exhausted. Cui Qi fell asleep as soon as he returned to his room, with Zhuo Hang’s words echoing in his mind.
"Listen well, Cui Qi. You have acted as my informant multiple times in the past, leaking a multitude of intelligence. However, this time is different - it’s highly dangerous. The opposition controls both criminal and legal activities, with influence both domestically and abroad. Think carefully before you accept this mission."
At that time, Cui Qi was confident, thinking that his experience would enable him to handle whatever might come his way and that, after so many years, he had already faced death without fear.
When Cui Qi was sound asleep, he was abruptly awakened by a loud explosion from outside that seemed to come from the main gate as if something was forcefully breaking through, giving Cui Qi a bad feeling.
Gunfire erupted in succession, instantly alerting Cui Qi who immediately rose from his bed and rallied his baffled teammates: "What are you staring at? Get out there, now!"
Not just Cui Qi’s team but members of other teams too rushed out of the dormitory. The moment they reached the grounds, they saw several vehicles driving in, filled with armed locals.
A confrontation ensued, and Mo Si’s men sneered before directing their guns at Cui Qi’s team. They unleashed a round of gunfire, flesh and blood scattered amidst a chorus of screams.
"Oh my god, everyone run to the factory!" Cui Qi shouted while running, feeling the fear of bullets whizzing past him. His comrades were falling around him, their screams of pain filling his ears.
More than a dozen security guards from the factory rushed out to fight against Mo Si’s gang, but they were vastly outnumbered and outgunned. Mo Si’s men suppressed them with overwhelming firepower, causing the guards to fall one by one.
At this moment, the female supervisor, her hair tied in a ponytail and wearing sunglasses, stood at the highest point in the factory with a sniper rifle. She took aim at the enemies, and with every shot, an enemy fell — five consecutive shots, all hitting their marks.
In the same place, five of Mo Si’s men fell. The rest fled in fear, providing Cui Qi and his team the chance to escape to the factory, hastily closing the gate behind them.
