Chapter 191: New Clues
Considering time, Su Hui felt she had waited long enough and eagerly ran to the identification bureau, wanting to know who the fingerprints belonged to, and hopefully uncovering some useful clues.
However, to her surprise, her colleagues there had puzzled expressions and claimed there were no fingerprints on the mineral water bottle she provided. They even doubted if Su Hui gave them the right item.
Su Hui was amazed because Gu Fan and Lu Yi had delivered it. They couldn’t have got it wrong, could they? She glanced doubtfully at her colleagues, but they remained composed and focused on their work.
Knowing her query was going nowhere, Su Hui called Gu Fan to explain the situation.
This surprised both Gu Fan and Lu Yi. They wondered if they could have made a mistake and debated what to do next, perhaps bring more fingerprints.
Su Hui agreed with this approach and decided to collect Old Xing’s fingerprints herself to be safe. She asked Gu Fan and Lu Yi to wait for her somewhere as she would drive to them.
When she arrived at the agreed spot, she found not only Gu Fan and Lu Yi but also Jie. Apparently, they had planned to play basketball and had decided to deal with this situation together.
They had faced life and death situations together, so they trusted one another. There was nothing to hide. After hearing the situation, Jie sighed, "You guys, didn’t we say we would live peacefully? How did we get involved again?"
Lu Yi was innocent: "I didn’t want to, but the situation was thrust upon me. I couldn’t escape it. It’s fate."
Gu Fan quickly tried to reassure: "Whether it’s fate or peaceful life, since it’s happened, let’s face it together. Besides, we have Sister Su with us, we’re not panicked."
"You’re not panicked, but I am. My position is at risk because of this." Su Hui shook her head and sighed, looking like she was at a great loss.
