Chapter 135: Fighting Back and Forth
Although there weren’t many people left on this side of the ancient town, their numbers had been severely depleted after the battle with the strange fish. Nevertheless, these survivors still outnumbered Gu Fan’s group and were beginning to semi-surround them.
"What should we do, do we fight?" Jie asked nervously, gripping his baseball bat tightly. However, seeing that the enemy was also armed with clubs, he didn’t feel as confident about having the upper hand anymore.
Lu Yi quietly suggested, "Sister Su, if you could take down half of them by yourself, we might stand a chance."
"I’ll do my best," replied Su Hui, feeling the pressure. Even with her exceptional skill, she knew she couldn’t defeat so many people alone, especially when she needed to protect Lin Xi and Qin Jia as well.
Just then, a walkie-talkie on one of the enemies buzzed to life. "Have they arrived yet? How’s the situation over there? Do you need reinforcements?" it said.
With lightning speed, Su Hui kicked the walkie-talkie out of the man’s hand. It flew straight towards Gu Fan.
"I got it!" Gu Fan caught the walkie-talkie midair and replied, "All clear, we’ve handled it." Having said that, he switched the device off, signaling they no longer required any assistance. This bred confidence within the group, spurring them to fight fearlessly.
"Bastards, capture them all," one of their opponents commanded. This side heavily outnumbered them and Su Hui was the first to confront them. With a crossbow in hand, she easily made them retreat with a simple threat.
"What are you all hiding for!" Su Hui lost her patience, handed her crossbow to Xu Haowen, and charged at them wielding a club. Although the enemies also had clubs, she easily overpowered them with her skill and experience, making it look effortless.
Before long, screams filled the air. The club-holding hands of their foes seemed to have been broken. They were shrieking in pain, unable to even clutch their weapons.
Su Hui unleashed her ferocity, soaring through the air and landed successive kicks on an opponent, sending him flying backward and knocking others over in his path, scattering them like bowling pins.
