Those Classmates who Suddenly Disappeared

Chapter 105: The Wolf Pack

On the second night of our journey, everyone set up their tents, built a fire, and gathered together to chat and eat while admiring the beautiful night sky. Afterwards, everyone retired to their tents to sleep.

Honestly, we were not used to camping in the wild. However, after a full day’s fatigue, we didn’t care much about comfort and one by one fell into a deep slumber.

Gu Fan had a dream, in which he found himself in a city enveloped in darkness and filled with ancient architecture. As he walked around the desolate city, an eerie silence consumed him.

Unsure of his location, Gu Fan found himself in front of a sacrificial altar with many steps leading upwards. Driven by curiosity, he ascended the steps, with each step echoing bizarre sounds around him.

Upon reaching the highest point of the altar, he was horrified to see twelve of his missing classmates tied to pillars, lifeless, and covered in blood.

"How can this be?" Gu Fan wanted to take a closer look, but suddenly he felt a void beneath his feet and began to plunge uncontrollably into a dark abyss. The sensation of fear jolted him awake.

Gu Fan opened his eyes back in reality, in his own tent, with Lu Yi sleeping soundly next to him.

"So it was just a nightmare," Gu Fan sighed in relief, chuckling at how he had frightened himself, drenched in cold sweat.

Suddenly, Gu Fan sensed something strange. He could hear gnashing sounds, which were neither snores nor sounds made by Lu Yi, who was only breathing softly in her sleep.

The sounds resembled those made by a wild beast. Startled, Gu Fan remained still, casting his eyes around the tent in search of the source.

He spotted it — dark shadows moving outside the tent ... and they seemed to be on all fours. His first instinct was wolves; he couldn’t believe he’d encountered them on the second night itself.
