The courtyard was silent.

"Should we climb in?" In front of Ismail was a wall only half as high as a person. Once inside, they could knock on the glass or pry open a door to enter the building.

"Forget it, we might not even find the key." Kadar felt it was a bit dangerous. This place was closer to the village than the yard they stayed at yesterday and more likely to alert others. They didn’t know how to lockpick, so entry would require breaking and entering. They might get trapped inside by the villagers while searching for the key.

Ismail always listened to Kadar and didn’t argue. He followed Kadar back to the path and continued walking forward.

Soon, they encountered someone who curiously glanced at them.

Ismail and Kadar acted as if nothing was amiss, simply nodding and smiling, pretending to be backpackers, and they passed by each other.

After walking a hundred meters more, Ismail suddenly chuckled, "I thought you would have killed him."

"Leave the body by the roadside? We’re too close to the village here; people will come by soon. Using a gun would attract attention, and using a knife would leave too much blood that’s hard to handle," Kadar analyzed seriously.

Ismail listened just as seriously and enthusiastically discussed with Kadar, "What about the body of the driver we plan to stop next?"

"Let’s walk two kilometers ahead, find a decaying tree where there are no villages nearby, and drag it onto the road. It won’t be conspicuous that way. We’ll hide by the roadside, like the first time we killed. We can use a knife or a gun. We could have someone stand by the roadside, back towards us, and then stab them."

"We could have the driver help move the tree, threaten him with a gun, forcing him to clear the road himself."

"Good idea."
