Chapter 124 - 10: Bribery (2) (Third Update)
The silent night, the blood-red moon.
The wind blew softly.
Even in her sleep, Shelley started grinding her teeth, mumbling incomprehensible words in her dreams.
The commotion outside the tent continued.
Arthur’s carriage slowly made its way toward the Golden Snake Camp. Through the rear window of the carriage, he looked back at Camilla’s carriage, which was approaching the Gray Camp from another direction.
It seemed like the two sides took turns, as Arthur left just as Camilla arrived.
Lusien V’s face couldn’t look any worse.
Unlike Arthur’s slowly departing carriage, Camilla’s carriage moved at a "normal" speed. Andre, riding on horseback behind, kept urging them on.
If they were on the town’s streets, it wouldn’t be so bad; after all, the town’s roads were relatively smooth. However, this was the wilderness. There weren’t even roads here. As a result, the whole carriage kept bumping around, and inside, Camilla was shaken so much that she couldn’t help but clutch her chest. At one point, she was jolted from one end of her seat to the other. Her small frame seemed like a leaf in a turbulent stream.
From behind, Gene II took a deep breath, looking smugly in the direction of the Golden Snake Camp.
Finally, the carriage arrived. Andre quickly dismounted, rushed over to open the door, and helped Camilla out. When she got off, Camilla was in a dizzy state, unable to stand steadily.
