Chapter 118 - 05: Setting Out (5)
The entire team was unanimously opposed to Gray accepting the allegiance of a group of dwarves. This included Vivian, Catherine, Black Cat, Andrew, Carl, and even Shelley, because she thought dwarves were just a bunch of oafs, dirty and incredibly crude.
However, Gray still made the decision, and no one could change it.
"I know what you all are saying. But that’s exactly why I decided to accept them. I want to see how people react to a group of dwarves loyal to me who yearn for the divine. Maybe I can change their views over the long journey. After all, they’ll sooner or later have to accept a Lich, won’t they? A Lich is much worse than dwarves. And besides, they don’t seem that bad. Carl even found a Bible in one of Beater’s packs, which means there’s hope for them to become better."
"My God, you actually know that a Lich is worse than a dwarf—this shows you have made some progress in common sense." Black Cat felt quite gratified.
Catherine, who had been silent, sighed.
Vivian was not so optimistic. She widened her eyes, and her face turned pale instantly.
"Wait, you still want to take off your mask? Didn’t the events in Lion King City teach you a lesson? Those people were just fools! You want to change a group of fools? What? You ask why we should find food for the fools? *Cough cough* They are just foolish, but inherently kind, aren’t they? We should help Lion King City through the famine... Alright, you don’t have to say it, I know I’m contradicting myself. Please temporarily ignore my opinion!"
Despite Vivian’s painful inner struggle, the decision was made, and it was final.
The journey was long, and the Silver Moon Knight Order began their interactions with the Dwarf Bandits.
Initially, the relationship between the two sides was extremely poor. Carl always felt that the dwarves were planning to renege on the agreement and flee, and the dwarves... well, they were indeed planning to escape.
Beater gathered all the dwarves in a corner, widened his eyes, and gritted his teeth, saying, "Did you think I was going to surrender? No, I’m just pretending! This is a strategy! A clever trick I came up with! We’ll pretend to obey them, then when they fall asleep at night, we’ll rob them of everything! And give that hypocritical Blood Elf a good beating!"
