Chapter 113 - 41: A New Command
Underworld, the Abyss.
The lava flowed quietly, casting everything in a dull red hue, with the rolling heat waves distorting the view.
In the long tunnel, surrounded by hard black rocks,
Tavia led Zeda and Vivian along the suspended walkway within the tunnel, curving semi-arcuately upwards. Figures formed by flames floated around, resembling some kind of creature or perhaps some peculiar phenomenon of the Abyss.
Although Zeda was already considered extremely tall and burly among the three, walking on this walkway still made him seem small.
After a long while, a stone door finally appeared ahead. The entire thirty-meter-wide tunnel was sealed by this gigantic stone door, bearing a huge sculpted demon face. The suspended walkway they walked on was the tongue of this sculpture, leading directly through the slightly open mouth to the other side of the door.
"Tavia, Zeda, Vivian greet you!" a hoarse voice roared.
With a rumbling sound, the face of the demon sculpture split open from the middle.
What lay before them was an underground space with a diameter of a thousand meters, shaped like an egg.
Lava flowed down from the dome along the rock walls, providing illumination in the underworld, gathering into a red sea below the walkway.
The surrounding rock walls were embedded with balconies, with a demon standing on each one.
