Chapter 78: Revenge (2)
"We were successful sir!" Joseph mumbled on the floor, his voice quivering with dread. He was trying to placate the terrible man. "We got him to the station! We did as you asked! But something had happened to him! He just attacked us and went away."
JokerX’s ears perked up with those words. He strode up to Joseph and crouched down. He grasped the front of Joseph’s shirt, his knuckles pushing into his collarbone. He drew him close, their faces mere inches apart.
"What did you say?" JokerX snarled in a low, menacing whisper. "Saman Station?"
Joseph nodded furiously, his eyes wide with horror. "Yes, Sir! We are not sure what happened to him! He just attacked us and fled away before we could react!"
JokerX let him go, dropping him back to the floor. He rose up and paced back and forth, his thoughts racing. This new piece of information altered everything.

This was not a straightforward assassination anymore. It was not an easy target. The boy was more than what his exterior portrayal indicated. JokerX started connecting the dots. All previous attempts on Adam’s life, official and unofficial, had failed. The cops are corrupt. Street thugs. The assassins are at his residence. Every attempt had failed.
JokerX sat back down on the sofa, a profound dread settling in his stomach. A caution bell rang in his mind, a screaming alarm that shouted something was wrong.
"He is not as simple as he appears," JokerX said to himself, his voice barely audible. "Is it a coincidence that he always escapes? His buddies claimed he attacked them the moment he got at the station. And after leaving the station, The Byrd is unable to track his exact whereabouts. "All of these things are connected."
He was still deep in contemplation, attempting to piece together the riddle, when the main gate burst open. The same gate that Eric and Joseph had just used.
