Chapter 23: Here I Come!
There were a few reasons why Leon was confident in Silver’s survival. It wasn’t blind confidence because he loved her or anything.
He just remembered a few details from the game.
In it, Silver didn’t attend the Academy for quite a while, which made people assume that it was because of her grief. After all, she had lost her supposedly best friend.
The developers—aka Leon—never gave any proper explanations, so players filled it in themselves by making theories.
But it also meant that they were just possibilities, and the true reason was never specified.
Only now did he understand that the true reason she wasn’t at the game’s start was because she was exploring the Primordial Expanse due to its Call.
And she survived there even while carrying the sadness of losing the most precious person in her life. It must have left her in disarray and in depression. Yet this girl actually managed to return back to Earth.
Leon could guess the reason for her determination too. After all, he had designed her character and knew her feet well.
Things might be different in this world, as everyone was real instead of being characters, but a lot of things were also the same.
In the game, Silver slaughtered her way back to Earth because Leon’s mother was still waiting for her. She was her family, so how could she die and leave her behind?
