Chapter 578 - 512: The Ancient Hunter Family’s Orphaned Sister and Brother Without a Guardian 33
Housekeeper Qian, upon catching the future Princess’s gaze, promptly corrected himself, "Miss Rong, please forgive our lack of maids here, we only have these few old women and the estate’s guards at your disposal. If there’s nothing else, this servant will take his leave."
Rong Yan nodded slightly.
Housekeeper Qian then withdrew immediately.
As for the remaining old women... there was no need for him to elaborate, as he had already given them instructions earlier.
Rong Yan looked at the three old women who stayed behind, "You may go about your business."
Upon hearing this, the old women could not help but look at each other... The future Princess hadn’t even asked for their names!
And, did she not want them to serve her because she was dissatisfied with them?
The three of them felt somewhat nervous inside.
This was the only young lady the Prince had brought into the estate, as beautiful as a fairy.
Seeing how the Prince had been speaking so cautiously just now... it was certain that she was the definite future Princess; they did not want to be disdained by her.
Rong Yan, seeing that they hadn’t left and wore a worried expression, couldn’t help but arch an eyebrow, "Is there anything else?"
The three old women immediately knelt down, "Miss, these servants were sent by the Housekeeper to serve you... Please let us stay, Miss!"
Their act of kneeling terrified Rong Jin, who had never seen such a thing, and he quickly hid behind his sister.
Rong Yan lightly patted his hand, signaling that there was nothing to worry about.
Then she looked at the kneeling trio, "I did not mean to send you away but rather for you to attend to your duties, as I currently have no tasks for you. You may all rise now!"
Relieved by her response, the kneeling women let out a collective sigh of relief.
It was a relief that they were still allowed to serve.
"Your servants shall take their leave," the three said in unison, and then stood up.
The courtyard was quite spacious, with plenty for them to busy themselves with.
Rong Yan watched as they each went on their way, then turned to Rong Jin, "Let’s go see the room you’ll be staying in."
"Okay." Rong Jin, having never stayed in such a large and nice house, was naturally very curious.
The siblings entered the west wing, and upon entering, they found the room to be quite spacious as well.
It had everything one could need, all complete.
"You should wash up in a bit." After saying this, Rong Yan remembered that their luggage was still on the horse-drawn carriage!
Fortunately, there were brand new toiletries available here.
"Sister, I can do it myself; you should wash up too!" He had heard Brother Qin mention washing up earlier, surely Sister hadn’t either.
"Alright! I’ll have someone bring you hot water."
Rong Yan finished speaking and turned to leave the room.
Just as she stepped out of the door, she saw an old woman carrying hot water his way... it seemed there was no need for her to give the order.
"Miss, this is for the young master to wash with." The old woman was very proper.
Rong Yan nodded, "Good, bring it in!"
The old woman carried the basin inside.
And at the doorway of her room, there was already someone waiting.
"Miss..." the old woman called out.
"Bring it in," Rong Yan said, without reaching out to take it herself.
The old woman promptly carried it inside, and after setting it down, stood to one side.
Rong Yan didn’t like having people around, so she said to the old woman, "You can go; I’ll call for you if I need anything."
"Alright, Miss! This servant will go then." After speaking, the old woman retreated out of the room.
