The Devil's Son and His Fated Bride

Chapter 22: Healing

Seeing the look on her face, Agara turned around and glared at Rigo. "Have you not explained to her how it works?"

Rigo gave him a sheepish grin. "I didn’t get the chance."

Agara sighed painstakingly. He was well aware of humans’ prejudices regarding magic, stemming from rebellions that had caused chaos centuries ago.

Ren sat in the chair, as it was incredibly uncomfortable to stand in that position and hurt Gloria.

"What is it? Is my condition that bad, so it requires you to use magic on my legs?"

Agara let out a frustrated sigh and pinched the bridge of his nose, slightly shaking his head. Humans know nothing about magic and how to use it to their advantage or to benefit from its good aspects.

Her terrified face said it all.

"If you want to walk within a few minutes, yes, it is necessary to use magic and heal you. And considering what I’ve heard about your rivals, I suggest you do it while danger still lurks around you."

Ren swallowed, but doubts still shadowed her thoughts. "What if my magic reacts to yours and hurts you?"

The Fae smiled gently in her response, pleased to know she wasn’t wicked.

Magic in the wrong hands could be a disaster, but in the right ones, it could be a miracle.
