Chapter 1486: Don’t Mess Things Up Again This Time
"Who do you think would care about your business."
Her goodwill was treated with disdain by her own brother, and Charlotte Shaw was immensely furious. She glared at Benjamin Shaw and turned around to get into her car.
Once inside the car, she didn’t linger for a moment, starting the engine and driving away.
Watching the car speed away, Grace Young and Anthony were momentarily caught off guard, but by then the car was already far gone, making it impossible for them to stop it.
"Former... Mr. Shaw! We..."
"Let’s discuss the collaboration another day; I truly apologize for today."
Anthony was still keen to talk about collaboration with Benjamin Shaw, but before he could voice it, Benjamin interrupted him in a deep voice.
At this moment, Benjamin Shaw was feeling troubled, and he had no mood to discuss any collaboration with Anthony.
"Get in the car, I’ll drive you both back." After speaking, Benjamin Shaw turned and walked towards his parked car nearby.
Anthony didn’t follow, instead shouting towards Benjamin’s retreating figure, "Mr. Shaw! We’ll take a cab ourselves; you go handle your own matters, we won’t trouble you."
Today’s events hadn’t progressed as expected, leaving Anthony in a somber mood.
"It’s no trouble, just a press of the gas pedal." Upon hearing Anthony’s shoutout, Benjamin Shaw halted and turned, only to realize Anthony and Grace Young were already walking towards the curb.
"We’re planning to roam around a bit, you go on busy yourself."
Anthony waved at Benjamin Shaw before heading with Grace Young to the curb, where they flagged down a taxi and got in.
Benjamin Shaw didn’t chase after them, watching instead as their taxi drove off into the distance. Only after it vanished from sight did he turn and walk toward his own car.
Bzz bzz bzz!
Just as Benjamin sat inside his car, the phone in his pocket began buzzing; he took it out to glance at the screen.
Upon seeing the caller ID, he furrowed his brow.
Benjamin Shaw had no intention of answering the call. With a swift motion of his sleek, strong fingers, he swiped the screen to hang up.
Yet, shortly after disconnecting, the phone buzzed again; he hung up once more.
Feeling irritable, Benjamin flung the phone onto the passenger seat, but as he was about to start the car, it rang again.
Hah!
This was deliberately not letting him, the son, off the hook.
The caller dialing repeatedly was Benjamin’s mother, Isla Lane; Benjamin knew without needing to guess about the reason behind his mother’s calls.
His mother must have heard the news about someone’s return, calling to nag him about it.
Benjamin Shaw initially didn’t want to bother with his mother’s fussing, but with the persistent ringing, it took on a tone threatening to drive him mad.
Drawing a deep breath, he leaned over to pick up the phone he’d tossed onto the passenger seat.
"Benjamin! What are you doing now? I’ve got good news — Alice is back, go find her and don’t mess it up this time."
As soon as Benjamin answered the call, Isla Lane’s excited voice surged from the phone, making Benjamin’s brow furrow even tighter.
"Who told you this news?" From his mother’s tone, it didn’t sound like it was his sister; who could have said it? Benjamin Shaw wore a puzzled expression.
