Chapter 1451: We’ll Talk About the Wedding Later
Easton Holmes’s true purpose for doing this was something Thomas Fisher understood well. He glanced sideways at his big brother with a grateful look.
Aside from Autumn York and the three little kids, everyone else was working hard, openly or secretly, which made the atmosphere during the meal very harmonious, with constant laughter.
"My in-law! When are the kids planning to get married?" Christopher Turner suddenly asked Cedric Fisher halfway through the meal. He felt such a good match should be secured early to avoid unexpected troubles; he certainly didn’t want a situation like five years ago to happen again.
As for this question, Cedric Fisher hadn’t really thought about it seriously. Thomas Fisher had just proposed successfully, but he felt the two shouldn’t rush into marriage. Besides, he believed it was up to the two kids to decide, and that the adults should just offer some opinions.
"There’s no hurry for the wedding. Let them be together for a while first." This time, Autumn York spoke up before Cedric Fisher. She definitely didn’t want Alice Turner marrying into the family too soon; the less of a daughter-in-law like that, the better.
Cedric Fisher also thought Thomas Fisher and Alice Turner should date for a while first, but he absolutely didn’t share Autumn York’s mindset; he was very satisfied with Alice Turner as a daughter-in-law.
Seeing that Cedric Fisher didn’t voice a different opinion from Autumn York, Christopher Turner knew the matter wouldn’t proceed as he wished.

"Dad! Mom! Uncle! Aunt!" Thomas Fisher addressed the four parents one by one, then held Alice Turner’s hand resting on the table. "Alice and I have already spent five years on this. I don’t want to keep dragging it out. I want to marry Alice as soon as possible."
This marriage should have taken place five years ago. He definitely didn’t want to keep waiting and wanted to marry her ASAP so his heart could feel at ease.
"Okay!"
"I disagree!"
Christopher Turner and Autumn York spoke simultaneously, but their meanings were completely opposite; one strongly agreed, while the other firmly opposed.
Cedric Fisher and Sophia Wood remained silent, each casting glances at their respective partner.
"We’ll discuss the marriage later." Autumn York’s opposition was firm. Alice Turner felt this from the beginning and, to avoid putting Thomas Fisher in a difficult position, she voluntarily suggested delaying the marriage.
The future mother-in-law didn’t truly accept her as a daughter-in-law, so marrying under force would make future days anything but peaceful.
She thought it better to first smooth things over with the mother-in-law and then discuss marriage, as it would seem more cautious that way.
Alice Turner also wasn’t emotionally prepared for marriage. She had already experienced a failed marriage five years ago and didn’t want to repeat her mistakes.
She needed to take responsibility for herself and even more for the man beside her.
Thomas Fisher gave Alice Turner’s hand a firm squeeze, ready to counter her statement, but before he could utter a word, she shot him a warning glance; he immediately swallowed back what he was about to say.
He hadn’t abandoned the idea of marrying soon; after the meal, he planned to have a private conversation with her about bringing her home.
Sophia Wood spoke up before anyone else could, delivering the final word, "We’ll do as Alice says, talk about the marriage later."
