Chapter 1128: Selfish
Ning Ziping felt a heavy heart; he now both wanted to find the child and was afraid of finding the child.
He wanted to find the child because he and Hai Lan were now unable to have children of their own, and having the child around in their old age would provide some support. Yet, he was afraid because he worried the child might hold a grudge against him. Although Sun Mei had insisted on taking their son during the divorce, afterwards, he truly hadn’t done much for him.
Especially since they had previously received a call asking them to take the child, but he had never imagined it would lead to the current situation, which left him feeling quite anxious and disordered.
Turning to enter the house, he saw his tearful spouse. He approached and gently pulled her into his arms, "Don’t cry, Mom was just speaking out of concern. You should understand her; she’s just worried about us having no one to rely on when we’re old."
Wang Hailan’s eyes were blurred with tears as she said, "Was it me who didn’t want children? It’s not just my health that’s an issue. Whatever is said always ends up being about having children. I think she’s doing it on purpose."
Hearing her say this, Ning Ziping felt a headache coming on, especially fearing his mother might overhear and come back, which would put him in an even more difficult position.
He patted the person in his arms, "Alright, stop crying. If you really don’t want that child to come back, I won’t look for him anymore. When we’re old, we’ll still have nephews and nieces; they will surely take care of us."
Wang Hailan stifled her sobbing, "It’s not that I don’t want you to find him and bring him back, but we can’t just act on every rumor and run over there without any consideration.
