Fortunately, before Luo Qiao arrived, there had already been several incidents in the village that were reported to public security and required hospital visits before the new year, or else all these might have had to be considered Luo Qiao’s doing.

Brigade Leader Gao Jiefang grew nervous. The idea that someone from outside dared to come to the village to steal was unacceptable, and he resolved to fully support the comrades from the police station.
Luo Qiao explained that she still had to register at the city’s No. 1 High School the next day, so she entrusted everything to the Brigade Leader. After several hours of commotion, the public security officers left, promising to continue their investigation the next day, since this was a case of breaking and entering, a serious offense.
