Chapter 222: Did She Remember Him?
Mu Feng was seething. He cannot believe that an outsider would chase him out of the hospital.
"Big Brother, thank you for dropping by straight from the airport. Please go home and rest first. I will be out tomorrow." Mu Lan said gently.
Mu Feng’s anger dissipated. He smiled and said. "I will go then. Take care of yourself and sleep early." Mu Feng stood and headed for the door. He still closed the door gently despite the urge to slam it.
The nanny did not return during the night. Mu Lan slept right after Mu Feng left. The bodyguard turned off the main light and just left the light near the headboard open. When Mu Lan’s breathing became even, the bodyguard stretched out his hand to gently caress her cheek.
His hand moved slowly to her protruding belly. He placed his big hand over her stomach. He felt the baby kicked and his heart skipped a bit. He felt a strange emotion engulfed him. He pressed his hand a little bit harder. The baby kicked again! He closed his eyes and immerse himself in the wonderful feeling of experiencing his baby’s kick.
Mulan stirred on the bed and he quickly retracted his hand. He sit on the chair beside the bed and his gaze was fixed on the peaceful face of the woman he missed for so many nights. He released a long sigh as he continued to gaze upon the beauty that was lying on the bed.
Erik remembered the days he spent looking for her. He remembered the long and lonely nights that he endured in the last few months. He was living a miserable life and then he found her. Even though she lost her memory and did not recognize him, he was still happy. He was pulled out of hell and brought back to earth.
"Did you know how much I suffered because of you? Don’t ever disappear again." He leaned forward and kissed her gently on the forehead. He closed his eyes and sighed as flashes of the hellish life he experienced in the last few months appeared in his mind. He was grateful that all of those came to pass.
Meanwhile, at the Mu Mansion, the first thing that Mu Feng did was to look for his grandfather. He was at his study reading a newspaper.
