Chapter 209: The Mu Princess
After three months, Mu Lan was discharged from the hospital. She has not regained her vision and she still could not remember other than a few dreams that she had.
When she was told that she was pregnant, she was dumbfounded. She asked her grandfather why her husband was not around. They told her the truth that they don’t have any idea who the father of her baby was.
The doctors told her that she can regain her vision but it might be detrimental to her baby. Mu Lan chose her baby and went with the safest way of dissolving the clot in her head using gamma knife radiation. She had completed one session and would undergo a few more until the clot would totally be dissolved.
On the first day she went back to the Mu residence, she did not have any familiarity at all. She felt that she was treading in an unknown territory. However she felt that she was familiar with Chen and Feng.
Mu Chen together with a maid guided her to her bedroom. For her convenience, Mu Heng renovated one of the two bedrooms on the ground floor beside his study.
Mu Lan took time to familiarize herself with the room so she could move around without relying too much on other people. Her grandfather however has another idea. He assigned a middle aged woman to be with her during the day and a young woman who would sleep with her on the couch at night.
That night, Mu Lan has a dream. She was running barefoot on the sand as fast as she could. Tears were blinding her and she felt so weak that her knees started to buckle and she fell down.
The man chasing her shouted profanities at her. Panic and fear coursed through her. She struggled to get up and resumed running. Her running seemed endless. She was running fast but the man who looked like a monster was faster.
When she thought that the monster was about to extend its claws on her, she bumped into something hard and fell on the sand. Her consciousness started to fade but she still uttered the words ’Please help me.’
