Chapter 166: Horseback Riding
"Erik let us explore the island first." Aryana was horrified when she saw the desire in Erik’s eyes.
Erik relented. They went outside the villa to survey their surroundings. The island was privately owned and only accommodates a few tourists to maintain the privacy of the guests.
"You want to go horseback riding?"
Aryana’s eyes sparkled. "That sounds interesting."
Erik called the caretaker of the villa they rented and explained his intention. Soon a tour guide approached them. They left the beachfront and walked in the direction where the horses were kept.
"It will be a two-hour ride." the guide explained the route. They will go up the mountainside to view the waterfalls, then ride down the mountainside to the coastline.
Erik smiled to see Aryana bubbling with excitement like a child. They went back to their villa to get necessities for the ride.
Erik chose a dark horse name Storm while Aryana chose a white one named Snow. They rode through a narrow forest path. Aryana enjoyed the sounds of the rustling and crunching of the leaves under the horses’ hooves. She looked up at the blue sky to see a flock of birds passing by. She turned sideways to glance at Erik only to find him watching her intently with an amused look on his face.
Aryana silently observed Erik as they rode in silence. He seemed to be lost in his thoughts while he was gracefully at ease atop Storm. The horse he selected looked magnificent and matched his temperament.
"You looked like an expert in horseback riding." Aryana raised her voice so he can hear him.
"This used to be my hobby back in college. One of our friends owns a ranch. I should bring you there one of these days."
