Chapter 141: We Are A Family After All
Erik looked at his grandfather and father. He conveyed with his eyes that something cannot be discussed. While the Lopezes are close friends and business partners of the Lees, they were still outsiders.
"Thank you Grandpa Vic for taking your time to visit me," Erik said politely.
"Why are you thanking me? We are a family after all." He turned to Cassie. "Cassie prepared a nourishing soup for you. It is good for the stomach. Eat it while it is hot."
Cassie understood her grandpa’s hints. She opened the thermo jug that contained the soup and sat beside Erik. She started feeding him.
"I can eat it myself. My hands are not injured and besides I am not a child and there are so many people around." Erik spoke in a low voice so as not to embarrass Cassie. Cassie handed him the spoon and he started scooping the soup with the spoon.
Cassie felt dejected. In the morning she clearly saw Erik being fed by Aryana and he did not mind at all. But she remembered that Erik might be ashamed because his grandfather and father were present.
Vicente Lopez cleared his throat. "Do you have someone you suspect who would want to harm you?" He asked hesitantly.
Erik threw a glance at his grandfather wanting him to answer the question. His grandpa remained silent.
"I asked the same person to a friend working in the military Grandpa Vic. His answer made sense. Whoever will benefit the most if I am eliminated will have the greatest motive to hurt me." Erik paused and looked at his family. "So I need Grandpa and Father’s help to identify who they are." Erik’s voice was cold.
"There might be an insider working for them. Did you consider that?" Vicente Lee probed further.
"Of course I did."
