Chapter 126: Someone Wants To Ruin You
"You are so smart Aryana. You guessed it." Elaine grinned at her.
"Thank you so much for your loyalty and fervor in fighting my enemies." Aryana’s gratefulness was heartfelt. She was lucky to meet a friend like her.
"I am your avid fan. Of course I will protect you from the online bullies. Kidding aside, I think someone is trying to ruin your reputation." The concern in Elaine’s voice was apparent as she shared her thoughts to Aryana.
"I am not doing anything so they will not succeed." Aryana declared with confidence.
She went to see Erik at his office after her meeting with Elaine.
"Are you going out?" Aryana asked Erik when she saw him stacked away the documents on his desk and turned off his laptop.
"Yes. Yana, I will not be having dinner at home. Grandpa asked me to help out Cassie on some things related to her company."
Aryana felt disappointed and an uneasy feeling nagged at her heart. But she saw an opening to ask Erik about last night.
"I watched the press conference last night. Cassie looked like a promising CEO. She has the making of a good one." Aryana tried to make her voice sound very casual.
Erik paused and looked at her. ’Wasn’t that what he said last night. Is she jealous? But she seemed nonchalant about it.’
"Yeah. I initially wanted to invest 10% but her business plan is good so I increased it to 20%."
