Chapter 112: An Angel
Before Aryana can say anything Vince talked first. "With your fighting skills you could have escaped on our way here or even when I put a knife on you."
"When I feel you staring at me and found you in the crowd, there is something I saw in your eyes. They say that the eye is the mirror to our soul. You have very expressive eyes." Aryana was very honest and Vince cannot help but blushed.
"What did you see?" Vince asked holding his breath.
"Desperation." Aryana said looking at Vince in the eyes.
Vince was surprised but he remained silent.
"I want to listen to your story. What do you need the ransom for?" Aryana asked.
Vince contemplated but he continued to stay silent. Vince was sitting on the floor and leaning against the wall. His plan failed and he will definitely go to jail. And Jessa... he hoped that she will miraculously be saved. Without him realizing it, a pair of tear drops fell from his eyes.
Aryana saw his pained expression and the tears that he shed. She sighed. She didn’t know why but her hunch tell her that she should help this man.
"Who knows that I am angel that God send your way."
When he heard the word ’angel’, Vince suddenly looked at her. His face has become swollen from the beatings he received earlier but his eyes were full of hope.
"My wife Jessa met an accident a few days back. It’s a hit and run. There is a blood clot on her brain that needed to be removed but the surgery costs almost half a million. The hospital needed a deposit of 200,000 for the surgery to be done. I thought that If I can get the ransom today, she can have the operation tomorrow. It doesn’t matter if I go to jail after, for as long as she will live." his voice croaked. "She is my everything."
