Liu Ying was arrested again. This time it was Xi Ting who provided all the evidence against her. And even if she was Xi Xiaobao’s mother, Xi Ting did not show any mercy. After all, she was a criminal. Who knew how many lives she had spoiled before targeting him!
This news reached the other members of the Xi as well as the Nie family. Everyone was relieved to find that they had not fallen into Liu Ying’s trap. Otherwise, if even a single member of the family would have supported Madam Xi, it would have been even more difficult for everyone.
Now that Liu Ying was out of picture and everything was fine, Old Madam Xi did not wish to wait any further. She immediately met up with Old Madam Nie and decided that they should hold a wedding for Xi Ting and Qin Yan as soon as possible.
The two children had suffered enough and had undergone many tests in their lives. And so, Old Madam Xi did not want anyone to come between them again. Thus, the old lady discussed this with Xi Ting and Qin Yan before fixing a meeting between Old Madam Nie and Fang Zichen.
Everybody was more than happy at this suggestion. They also felt that it was time for the children to settle down. Thus, all of them discussed and prepared their guest list while Xi Ting and Nei Zehai booked a banquet hall for the wedding and did other preparations.
The old ladies also consulted a master for auspicious dates of the wedding and decided on the nearest dates accordingly.
Qin Yan and Xi Ting collected their marriage certificates first before holding their wedding. So now, they were already legally married.
But according to wedding customs, Xi Ting still had to come to the bride’s house to fetch the bride. So, the day before Qin Yan’s wedding, she returned to Nie family mansion to stay.
The Nie family had already prepared a room for Qin Yan when they came to know about her existence. Because of the wedding, they had even especially decorated her room all over again.
The wedding would be held on Saturday. On Friday, Qin Yan came home to prepare. She also had to put on decorations around her room to make it look more festive.
Tong Chunian brought people with him around the district to put up the "Xi"[1] motif decorations.
