Chapter 581: Liu Ying tries to come closer to the little bun
Time passed by and Liu Ying had already visited the Xi mansion two to three times and looked at the little bun from afar. She did not show any displeasure to Xi family’s requests and patiently did everything that Madam Xi told her to do. This made Madam Xi quite impressed by her.
After a few days, after speaking to the psychiatrist, Master Xi and Madam Xi decided to let the little guy meet with Liu Ying. However, they were informed by the psychiatrist to not let the little bun know that Liu Ying was his mother as he could not absorb such a big information in this state. Liu Ying had to try slowly to get closer to the little guy and when they were close enough, only then could she tell him that he was her biological child.
Thus, today, Madam Xi had invited Liu Ying for dinner and was to introduce her as her friend’s daughter. She wanted Liu Ying to become friends with the little bun first by playing with him or by taking pleasure in his interests.
The warm glow of the dining room chandelier illuminated the Xi family as they gathered for a simple evening dinner. Master Xi and Madam Xi sat at the head of the table; their anticipation evident as they awaited Liu Ying’s arrival. Xi Xiaobao, normally withdrawn, was brought down from his room by a nanny, the hushed echo of his silent steps filling the air.
As the doorbell chimed, signaling Liu Ying’s arrival, Madam Xi welcomed her with a gracious smile. The family rose to greet her, and soon they were all seated around the elegantly set dinner table.
The dinner table was adorned with an array of delectable dishes such as steamed dumplings, stuffed with a medley of vegetables, sat gracefully beside succulent braised pork. Stir-fried seasonal greens, adorned with a hint of garlic, added a vibrant burst of color to the table. Colorful vegetable stir-fry with a hint of sweetness and bite-sized chicken nuggets along with a small bowl of fluffy white rice was specially prepared for the little bun.
As everyone took a seat, Madam Xi took the opportunity to introduce Liu Ying to the little bun.
"Bao Bao, this is Aunty Ying. She is the daughter of my friend and has joined us for dinner today. Say hello to aunty."
The little guy remained silent; his gaze fixed on the table. Liu Ying, undeterred, offered a genuine smile, attempting to break the ice.
