Chapter 407: Absence of Zhuang Yu
A small tinge of worry started to creep into her mind, but she tried to dismiss it, thinking that perhaps Zhuang Yu was just running a bit late. As the minutes passed, Zhuang Yu’s seat remained vacant. Qin Yan’s concern grew more apparent, and she began discreetly asking other classmates if they had seen Zhuang Yu today. However, nobody had seen Zhuang Yu that day.
During the break between lectures, Qin Yan decided to send a message to Zhuang Yu, hoping to get a quick response and put her concerns to rest. As she typed out the message on her phone, her fingers felt a mix of anxiety and urgency.
After sending the message, Qin Yan continued to look around the campus during her free periods, hoping to spot Zhuang Yu somewhere. As time went on and there was no response to her message, her concern deepened. She kept checking her phone repeatedly, hoping for a notification that would bring some relief.
As the day neared its end, Qin Yan didn’t see any signs of Zhuang Yu in the college which deepened her worries. She felt a strong urge to find out what was going on and offer her support if needed.
As the college day came to a close and Zhuang Yu’s absence continued to weigh heavily on Qin Yan’s mind, she knew she had to take action and check on her friend. Concerned for Zhuang Yu’s well-being, Qin Yan decided to visit her house and see what was going on. Zhuang Yu had previously told her about her living conditions.
As she made her way to the slum area in the city where Zhuang Yu lived, the contrast between the college campus and the neighborhood became starkly apparent. The bustling atmosphere and vibrant colors of the college were replaced by a more somber and worn-out environment. Dilapidated buildings lined the narrow streets, and the air was filled with the sounds of everyday life in the city.
Walking on the dirty and messy path did not affect Qin Yan’s mood at all as she was worried about Zhuang Yu. The slum area was numb and people were oppressed by real life, there were even some people who didn’t have a home of their own in this city.
