Qin Muran forced a smile, though her heart sank deeper with each passing moment. Her inner turmoil kept intensifying, "I can’t believe someone would resort to violence like this. You don’t deserve to be treated this way."
"Let them be. It’s reassuring to have you by my side, especially during times like these," Xi Yaohua winced slightly as she applied antiseptic to his wounds, but he appreciated her care nonetheless.
"Of course, Brother Hua. We’re in this together, no matter what. I will always be with you."
As Qin Muran continued to tend to his injuries, the tension in the room became palpable. Unspoken truths hung heavy in the air, a constant reminder of the sacrifices she was making to uphold the facade of their engagement.
After taking care of his injuries, Qin Muran advised, "Brother Hua, you should take some rest. You proceed to the bedroom and I’ll bring you something to eat."

Qin Muran took a moment to collect herself before seeking out the housekeeper for assistance in the kitchen. She approached the housekeeper, her tone polite yet assertive, "Could you please help me prepare some porridge for Brother hua? Something light and nourishing would be best."
The housekeeper, accustomed to fulfilling Qin Muran’s requests, nodded with understanding, "Of course, Miss Qin. I’ll assist you in the kitchen and ensure everything is prepared to your satisfaction."
