Chapter 293: Plot reversal
"Cookie," Coincidentally, Xi Ting came over to look for Qin Yan. He stood not far away and looked at Wang Wen indifferently. Then, his gaze fell on Qin Yan with a subtle gentleness. He said, "It’s time for lunch."
"Okay, I’ll go over now," Qin Yan smiled. After waving her hand at Xi Ting, she said to Wang Wen, "Xi Ting is a person, not a machine. No one has the right to use any reason to restrain him. He’s a free and independent man." After saying that, she walked briskly towards Xi Ting and the two of them left side by side.
From the back view, the two of them were a perfect match.
Wang Wen stood where she was and she had an agonizing expression on her face.
"Wang Wen," Xi Ting suddenly stopped and turned his head. His dark eyes looked at her with a hint of coldness.
"CEO Xi," Wang Wen’s throat was inexplicably tight.
"I don’t think serving my woman is a waste of time," Xi Ting said coldly. "I’m willing to do anything for my girlfriend. I have my own life. As the secretary-general, you have interfered too much." After saying that, he took Qin Yan’s hand and left in big strides, leaving Wang Wen alone in a daze.

After lunch, Qin Yan left the Xi Corporation and hailed a taxi to return to the campus of Beijing University. As her taxi reached the highway, it encountered two large trucks on two separate lanes.
The trucks were in the overtaking lane and moving fast. In between them was a 130-feet-long empty stretch of road.
Since, it was the highway, the speed of Qin Yan’s taxi was high. It continued pressing forward. Just as Qin Yan was about to ask the driver to slow down, the car sped up again, overtaking the trucks.
