Xi Ting hadn’t even asked where she was feeling unwell! Did he only have eyes for Qin Yan now?
"I-I’ll get going, then," Nei Mianmian held her tears back and turned around slowly.
"Oh, right!" It seemed like she suddenly recalled something as she reached for a little box in her bag.
She handed the box to Xi Ting, "This is the gift I brought back for you from overseas. Others have already received it, but since I couldn’t get in contact with you, this was with me."
Xi Ting hesitated for a while before receiving it, "Thank you."
That "thank you" was even more tear-jerking for Nei Mianmian.
She smiled as if mocking herself, "Ah Ting, we’ve known each other for so long. Do you have to be so formal with me?"
With that, she looked at Qin Yan apologetically, "I’m sorry, Yan Yan. I didn’t know you and Ah Ting were committed when I was getting the gifts, so I didn’t prepare yours. I’ll make it up to you."
Qin Yan was slightly stunned but quickly said, "It’s fine!" She didn’t need any gifts from Nei Mianmian.
They were all good friends for over a decade, some even over two decades. Although she was Xi Ting’s girlfriend, this was her first time meeting them. She was no more than a stranger to them, actually.
"I’ll see you next time, then," Nei Mianmian turned and left.
