Chapter 185: First day of college
Qin Yan hugged the sad Qiao Qing to console her, "Everything will be okay. Don’t you worry."
"I am not worried. I don’t care what others think about me. But when I think that my parents are not satisfied by me, no matter how much I try, my heart breaks into pieces," Qiao Qing said softly, "I could never gain any self-confidence because of all this."
"Sun Qinglian is the daughter of my aunt. Because we are the only girls in our family, normally the relatives always compared us to each other. My parents, directly or indirectly mocked me for being ugly in front of everyone. Meanwhile, even though Sun Qinglian did many bad things, her parents never let it get revealed before the world. They always praised their daughter in front of others."
"Eventually because of all this, Sun Qinglian started looking down on me. Other than my blood related brother, all other cousins got together with Sun Qinglian and humiliated me," Qiao Qing remembered every family function of hers.
"This went on and because I could not retaliate, it increased further. Yan Yan, do you think that I am a coward?" Qiao Qing put forward the question in front of Qin Yan.
Qin Yan shook her head, "No, in my opinion, you are the strongest. Even after so much happened, you are still standing strong acknowledging all your weaknesses," Qin Yan held Qiao Qing’s hand, "Qing Qing, realising and acknowledging your weakness is a big thing. Very few people are able to do it. Moreover, since you know what the problem is, you can find out the solution to it. If you don’t realise the problem, how are you supposed to solve it?"
Qiao Qing heard Qin Yan and felt a wave of warmth in her heart. This was the first time in her life that someone had praised her. Her heart felt full.
"Okay, let’s return to the dorms now. It’s getting late," Qiao Qing got up with a smile on her face.
Qin Yan looked at the time and agreed with Qiao Qing. If they were to return any later, the dorm’s door would be closed.
The two friends returned to their rooms with different thoughts in their minds.
