Chapter 139: The surgery
The next week, Qin Yan met Lu Che through Yun Jian. She had explained the case to the latter much earlier and brought him to the Xu house to check on Xu Lei. Lu Che was puzzled seeing a lady in front of him and hearing her request. But since this was an exchange, he refrained to ask any unnecessary questions and just focussed on his work.
The doorbell to the Xu house rang. Qin Yan and Lu Che stood in front of the Xu parents. Although the Xu parents knew that Qin Yan would bring Lu Che, they were nonetheless surprised seeing him in person.
Their trust in Qin Yan increased by leaps and bounds as they realised that she was being serious.
"Miss, Doctor Lu, please come in," The Xu parents greeted the duo on their door.
The duo entered the house. Lu Che looked around and saw that this was a fairly moderate house different from his other patients. He did not show any disdain towards anything which indicated his focus towards his work and his professionalism. He didn’t care if his patient was rich or poor, he just loved challenges.
He wished to treat and know about new diseases everyday. When he came to know about Xu Lei’s condition, he took this as a challenge since the surgery was very difficult.
"Miss, Doctor Lu, please have a seat. What would you like to have?" Mother Xu asked the duo amicably.
"Mrs. Xu, if you don’t mind, I would like to see the patient first. These formalities are unnecessary," Lu Che spoke his mind.
"No problem, please come with me, Doctor Lu," Father Xu got up and directed Lu Che towards Xu Lei’s room. Qin Yan and Mother Xu followed behind them.
He knocked the door of his daughter’s room before entering with her permission. Xu Dong was in his sister’s room having some snacks with her and keeping her company.
"Doctor Lu, this is my daughter. We’re so thankful that you’re willing to come see her today!" Father Xu introduced Lu Che to Xu Lei.
