Chapter 21: Car accident
In the room, Qin Yan went straight to shower. Earlier when she came back, she was covered in sweat. Then the argument in the living room delayed her freshening process and now she was feeling extremely itchy. Being a clean freak, she couldn’t stay even a minute without cleaning herself.
After the shower, she laid on the bed and stared towards the ceiling. Suddenly, her stomach growled. She was extremely hungry since she hadn’t eaten anything after lunch. She wanted to have dinner but she didn’t have any more strength left to deal with her hypocritical family.
So, she went to the kitchen and brought some fruits to her room. Thankfully, she didn’t encounter anyone and could come to her room peacefully. She ate the fruits and happily went to bed.

The next day, while returning from the school, Qin Yan saw a traffic jam on the road. When she moved further, she realised that an accident had occurred there. A car had run off after hitting a woman in the ’40s. People had called the ambulance. But the condition of the woman seemed serious.
When she went through the crowd, Qin Yan saw a woman in her 40’s covered in blood with scratches all over her body. Her clothes were torn off.
People around her were taking pictures and video of her. She was wailing in pain but nobody came near her to help her. They were waiting for the ambulance, as all they could do was to wait. They didn’t want to touch her, because it would dirty their clothes.
That’s what people did, they made videos and posted them on the internet raising questions on government and criticizing the society, but they wouldn’t help when the said person needed it. Instead, they stood there like mannequins and took videos.
Qin Yan stepped forward. Because of her huge body size, everybody gave her way as they didn’t want to get pushed by her. It was fortunate that she changed her school uniform into a sportswear. This was done by her so that she could walk or run easily from school to her home.
If she had been in school uniform, nobody would have let her pass, much less touch the injured woman. Because of her huge body size and acne filled face, nobody was able to tell her real age.
When Qin Yan covered the lady with her scarf and lifted the latter’s hand to examine her pulse, People looked at her with questionable eyes. They were wondering, ’Is she a doctor?’
