Chained Hearts: From Slavery to Sovereignty

Chapter 100: We can’t afford to offend him

Cassian’s voice became firm as what he thought was just a suspicion turned out to be the truth.

He couldn’t believe it—how could a demon appear in Galdreth? No, not just in Galdreth—how did he even appear in the human world?

Cassian was well aware of the state of this world, and he was no longer the naive teenager who believed humans were the sole rulers of the world. He knew there were many other races, just like humans, and one of those races was the demons.

But this was the same race that had been detested for centuries by the entire world. They were considered the most savage and cruel of all. After coming to Morthagar, he had read about many races, including the demons.

His knowledge, however, came purely from historical books. People feared talking about the demon race, and no one dared to mention them. Over time, even the mention of demons had become a taboo in many kingdoms, including Morthagar.

At first, he denied that the man in front of him couldn’t possibly be a demon, because demons were sealed behind a powerful wall. No demon was born with the strength to break or bypass it.

"Then how? How is he here? How is he not in the demon world?" Cassian thought, his face losing all its color. He still couldn’t believe what he was seeing.

Impressions and opinions about someone could be mistaken, but their powers never lied. Only demons from the demon world had the ability to summon the sinned monsters from the deepest depths of hell.

And upon closer inspection, Cassian realized something else—the monster emitted a stench similar to the ones they had fought before. At first, he had overlooked this detail, but now everything became clear.
