Chapter 96: The Archdemon’s Summons
So much time had passed and he had yet to meet any humans. He could not torture them if he could not even lay eyes on them. But finally the day had come. He would leave the demon world and satisfy his urges.
His long fingers clenched at his sides as he paced back and forth. His movements were sharp, restless and full of suppressed fury. He stopped suddenly, his dark eyes narrowing as he glanced into the distance. A twisted grin stretched across his pale face, but it did not hide the madness in his gaze.
"No longer," he muttered under his breath. His voice was low and cold. It was trembling with an edge of excitement. "No longer am I confined because of that cursed wall."
The thought of the wall soured his mood. His grin twisted into a snarl. His sharp teeth glinted as he bit out, "Why is it always us? Why were demons the only ones confined? Why not these pathetic humans?"
The anger in his voice grew louder with each word. His claws flexed as though he could tear apart the very thought of that wall. His eyes burned with an intense fiery rage and glowing faintly in the dim light of his surroundings.
"Just wait," he said with his tone dropping into a growl. He tilted his head , the wild hair falling over his face. but it did not hide the mad glint in his eyes. "You lowly creatures...you pathetic, hopeless humans. Just wait!"
He threw his head back and let out a bitter laugh. His shoulders shook with each mocking chuckle. the sound filled with contempt and bloodlust. "Our lord has returned!" he declared with pride and madness.
His lean figure straightened as he looked into the distance. His hands curled into tight fists. his claws digging into his own palms but he did not care. Pain meant nothing compared to the satisfaction he felt at the thought of revenge.
"The wall will fall," He said with a big and uncontrolled grin. "And then you will know. You will see who the true overlords of this world are."
