Chained Hearts: From Slavery to Sovereignty

Chapter 94: Monster’s Attack (02)

The Voidmaw lashed out with intense anger, its tentacles reaching everywhere to attack.

One of the tentacles wrapped around Aerich’s leg and pulled him to the ground. Aerich grunted in pain as he hit the dirt, the soil quickly flying into his eyes.

"Fuck, man," he grunted as the monster dragged him across the ground. He quickly grabbed a dagger from his belt and slashed at the tentacle.

The creature roared in pain and let go. Ivis rushed forward and struck the Voidmaw with his sword, cutting its overexcited tentacles, which were constantly reaching for him.

But it was to no avail; even the severed tentacles started moving on their own and attacked them.

"What kind of lecherous monster is this, still moving after being severed from its body?" Orion muttered while kicking away a piece of the tentacle. The bloodied thing was trying to wrap around his leg.

The texture of the Voidmaw’s tentacles was so disgusting that Orion felt sick and struggled not to throw up. The outer side was slimy and covered in thick mucus that stuck to anything it touched.

The underside was even worse, with rows of fleshy suckers that pulsed and wriggled as if they were alive. These suckers oozed a strange liquid as they tried to latch onto their target.

The suckers pressed against Orion’s clothes, trying to break through and suck his blood. It felt horrifying, like dozens of tiny mouths trying to devour him.

If the tentacle had touched his bare skin, it would have been much worse. The suckers would have stuck to him like leeches, gripping him so tightly that he couldn’t escape.

The liquid they secreted would burn like acid, draining his strength while holding him in place. Just the thought of it made Orion shudder, knowing one mistake could lead to that nightmare.
