When all the trainees noticed Sir Alistair approaching with Sir Morren Roneyev and Sir Oronik Faelor following closely behind, they immediately stood at attention and saluted the knights. Their movements were crisp, and their expressions were filled with both excitement and nervousness.
"Oh ho! I can feel the raw energy radiating from all of you," Alistair teased them and folded his arms behind his back and gave them a smug grin. "You’re really excited, aren’t you?"
"Yes, Sir Alistair! We are excited!" One of the trainees, Kallus Adair, replied with enthusiasm.
There are Orion Hart, Aerich Ford, Kallus Adair, Ivis Wilson, and Llyris Wilson, who were going to join them for the mission as they were the top five candidates, and they had performed best in training grounds.
Ivis Wilson and Lyris Wilson are twin brothers. They both came from humble families in the Morthagar kingdom. Every year hundreds of students were selected to join the knights of the kingdom, and they were selected from commoner backgrounds.
The seats for various status are reserved in the kingdom; it gives everyone equal opportunities to join the knighthood and bring honor to the kingdom.
Kallus Adair and Orion Hart came from the noble family, but they don’t have much higher nobility as they were descendants of Baron’s and Viscount’s family.
Aerich Ford came from the noble family and had a high status as he was the second son of the Northern Duchy of Frostvale.
"Good, good," Alistair said, nodding approvingly. Then he leaned closer, his grin turning mischievous. "But let’s see if that enthusiasm lasts when you’re out in the field. Missions aren’t about all glory and cheers, you know. It also includes sweat, blood, and sometimes sheer will."
