The old man showed Xiao Feng a picture and said, "She’s in the first year of high school, in Class One. Her name is Gao Ya. This is her picture."
Looking at the photo, Xiao Feng saw an adorable girl with bangs, wearing a school uniform and a radiant smile.
"Sure, no problem!" Xiao Feng took the photo and nodded solemnly. "I’ll go to Sanzhong as soon as I can and check on her for you!"
After bidding farewell to the old man, Xiao Feng returned to the restaurant with a load of fertilizer and soil. In a corner of the backyard, he pried open the ground tiles, removed the sand underneath, and filled it with the soil the old man had provided after disinfecting it with quicklime. Then, he applied the base fertilizer to the soil, planted the seeds, and watered them according to the procedure the old man had advised. If everything went well, the survival rate of these seeds would be high.
There were a hundred seeds each for the mutant potatoes and eggplants, but Xiao Feng didn’t plant them all. Just in case they didn’t grow, he wanted to have some left for future attempts.
After completing these tasks, three days had passed. It was then that Xiao Feng remembered the old man’s request.
