"Feel free to ask anything. I’ll tell you everything I can," said Nagasawa as he pressd Obito to the ground and sat down.
Shisui sat across from Nagasawa. A hint of hesitation flashed across his face, but he quickly regained composure and asked, "Why are you here? Shouldn’t you be overseeing the Chunin Exams in Konoha at this time? Could it be that you already knew about the masked man being in the Land of Water and have been secretly protecting us?"
Originally, Shisui thought this might involve some important secrets, so he hesitated to ask. However, since Nagasawa instructed him to ask, he decided to proceed.
Nagasawa nodded and explained, "Exactly. Yesterday, during the Chunin Exams, I should have been in Konoha overseeing the quarterfinals and semifinals. However, I had already arranged everything regarding the exams. Whether I’m there or wouldn’t make any difference.
Then, due to a reason I can’t disclose, I found out that the masked man might be in the Land of Water. So, three days after you guys set off, I arrived in the Land of Water. Remember the Summon Steel Tag I gave you?"
"Of course, I remember. It’s extremely powerful, the most terrifying Tag I’ve ever seen," Shisui replied, recalling the immense power of the Summon Steel Tag.
"It has something I left on it. Once you use it, I can sense it, allowing me to get here in an instant," Nagasawa explained. He clarified that he hadn’t been following Shisui and the others the entire time. But Nagasawa indeed had been investigating Land of Water’s dessert parlor before Shisui used the Tag.
"I see," Shisui said. No wonder Nagasawa gave him such a powerful Tag just for a mission to the Land of Water. Initially, he thought Nagasawa was concerned about any potential accidents, but it turned out to have other purposes.
Nagasawa’s initial purpose for sending them to the Land of Water was probably not just to invite the Mizukage to the Five Kage Summit; dealing with the masked man was likely another objective.
"How did you know I was in the Land of Water?" Obito, who had awakened from the sorrow of losing the Mangekyō Sharingan, couldn’t help but ask.
Only two people could know about his presence in the Land of Water: Nagato and Konan. However, they wouldn’t have shared this information with Nagasawa, and even if they knew he was in the Land of Water, they didn’t know the details of his plans there.
