Leon raised his hand to stop his words and said seriously, "Let’s skip the pleasantries, what’s going on exactly?"
Sasha quickly pointed to a marked location on the display map for Leon: "In recent days, we’ve been transporting important patients from shelters across various places. Essentially, all bases have responded, except for a large fortress located within the former Solden Kingdom, which has not yet answered. At least twenty thousand surviving compatriots are living there."
"We even took the risk of using the main frequency of broadcast communication to try and contact them, but still received no response whatsoever. We then dispatched a Dawn Squad aboard a Hawk to investigate, but..." Rousseau spoke, revealing a trace of unease in his eyes.
Sasha continued in a somber tone, "The warriors lost contact after entering that area, communication has been down for two days."
"We cannot just give up on so many survivors, so we’ve decided to send another team there to investigate... and your subordinates are the mightiest warriors we’ve ever seen in our lives. We hope to enlist your aid to accompany our soldiers.
Of course, this is merely a request, not a demand, Lord Leon, you are fully entitled to refuse," Rousseau sighed.
The disappearance of the Dawn Squad left him deeply unsettled, but he really couldn’t just leave so many survivors uncontacted like that.
Since the organization retreated into underground military facilities worldwide, this was the first time the Church had faced such a severe communication breakdown.
Leon, however, wasn’t conflicted; he looked at the map on the screen and asked, "I can help you look into it, but your Hawk Gunship might not accommodate all my Knights in one go, although there are enough Hawks in the hangar. But do you have enough pilots?"
Hearing the other party agree without hesitation, Rousseau was first pleased, then stunned.
