Transmigrated: The Lycan King's Pet

Chapter 18 A Need for a Mate

My brows furrowed in confusion as I stared at the bracelet.

"This is my brand," came his voice. His grip on me loosened. My eyes blinked, blinking out the tears down my face. ’Why? Why is he toying with me?’ I couldn’t help but break down at that thought.

I felt relief washing through me, calming the fear in my heart. I never realized how much I had been holding my emotions back. I was glad that he didn’t brand me, but I was so confused—if he really wanted to brand me but had a change of heart, or if this was his plan all along to scare me.

I didn’t know what to feel for him—gratefulness, anger, hatred—maybe it was a mix of them all. Seeing me bawling my eyes out, and how my shoulders were trembling, Damon walked closer to me.

He slowly brought his hand closer to my face, his thumb hovered just above my cheeks, like he wanted to wipe away my tears. From my blurry vision, I saw him furrowing his brows, as if contemplating if he should do it or not. His gesture strangely warmed my heart.

But the next second, he retracted his hand before patting my head. "Let’s go back and sleep," he said as he strode out.

Strangely, I felt a warm and stinging constriction in my chest. ’Bastard, won’t you even explain why you did that?’ I yelled inwardly. My legs trembled as I walked after him.

When we got to his room, he laid down on his bed with a sigh. Meanwhile, I stood by the door.

"Come closer," he ordered.
