Chapter 289: Characteristics Of Mana
“Depending on the person, the characteristics of mana differ. You can guess its nature from its color, talent, or even bodily changes. Even for those of the same species, the mana characteristics may vary for each individual.”
The Sage slightly lowered her head and looked at both of us.
“These characteristics may be similar, but they can never be exactly the same. After using magic, traces of it always remain. Unless the characteristics are forcibly altered or erased, you can track down the owner of the mana by following its traits. You know how in movies, they chase criminals using magic? That’s based on this.”
Saying this, she flicked her fingers and brought three stones before us. Each one had a different geometric pattern engraved in bright blue.
“These three stones each contain mana with different characteristics.”
The Sage then pulled out another stone from her pocket. Unlike the others, it had no patterns. Yet, faint mana could still be felt from within.
I assumed we were supposed to pick out which of the three stones held the same type of mana as the one in her hand.
“If you’re a wizard, you probably already know what I’m going to say.”
It was a theory I had heard from Hwangdo once. Marronie and I almost simultaneously reached out, each pointing at a stone on the table. I chose the first stone, while Marronie picked the third.
